Molecular Structure Advantage: It has primary amino groups (-NH₂) at both ends of the molecule and a polyoxypropylene glycol segment in the middle. The primary amino groups have high reactivity and can quickly react with isocyanates (-NCO) to form urea bonds; the polyoxypropylene segments provide excellent flexibility and low-temperature resistance to the material.
Core Function of Chain Extension: In the polyurea system, it acts as a "chain extender" to connect the short chains in the prepolymer into longer polymer chains, forming a cross-linked network. This step directly determines the final mechanical strength, elasticity and aging resistance of the polyurea.
Regulation of Reaction Activity: Compared with aromatic amine chain extenders, its reaction speed is milder, which can extend the construction window period. It is suitable for manual or mechanical spraying construction and reduces problems such as bubbles and sagging caused by too fast reaction.
Elastic Polyurea Coatings: Used for concrete bridge decks, inner walls of storage tanks and steel structure anti-corrosion. Its flexibility is used to solve the problem of coating damage caused by substrate cracking.
Polyurea Elastomers: Used to make sealing rings, buffer pads, etc. With its fatigue resistance and high and low temperature resistance (-40℃~120℃), it can adapt to dynamic working conditions.
Adhesives and Sealants: As a curing component, it improves the bonding strength and weather resistance of products, and is often used for structural bonding in the construction and automotive industries.
Storage and Moisture Proof: Primary amino groups are easy to absorb moisture. After absorbing moisture, they will react with isocyanates to generate CO₂, resulting in bubbles in the products. It should be sealed and stored in a dry environment, and used as soon as possible after opening.
Proportioning Accuracy: The dosage must be calculated strictly according to the isocyanate index (usually 1.05~1.10). Deviations in proportioning will directly affect the curing degree, leading to a decrease in strength or stickiness.
Construction Environment: The construction temperature is recommended to be 5℃~35℃, and the humidity is below 85%. Low temperature will reduce the reaction speed, while high temperature may shorten the gel time. The formula should be adjusted or catalysts added according to the environment.
