Product Features

Under ambient temperature and pressure, OPA10 is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid with a flash point of approximately 114.3 °C, classified as a combustible liquid. It has low solubility in water but is readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol.

The primary amino group (-NH₂) in the OPA10 molecule endows it with weak basicity, enabling it to react with acids to form salts. The ether linkage (-O-) in the molecule provides excellent chemical stability and flexibility. Its unique branched-chain structure grants it superior low-temperature fluidity, outperforming linear homologues. Meanwhile, the branched structure can rapidly reduce surface tension and deliver extremely fast wetting speed, facilitating the rapid spreading and penetration of formulations. Additionally, OPA10 serves as an effective emulsifier and dispersant, aiding in the formation of stable systems.

Application

Surfactants and Additives:As an intermediate or direct component, it is used in the production of cationic surfactants, industrial cleaning agents and degreasers (especially for heavy oil contamination cleaning and low-temperature cleaning), pesticide adjuvants (as synergistic penetrants), as well as coatings and ink additives (to improve leveling properties and pigment dispersibility).

Mineral Flotation:In the mining industry, it serves as a flotation agent for the separation of valuable minerals.

Other Fields:In petroleum extraction, it is used as a component of crude oil demulsifiers and a drilling fluid lubricant; in the textile industry, it functions as a softener.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, OPA10 is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents.Store separately from incompatible substances such as acids.
