Product Features

Tallow amines are white solids at room temperature, with a weakly irritating ammoniacal odor. They are slightly soluble in water but highly soluble in organic solvents. The terminal primary amino group (-NH₂) endows them with basicity, enabling them to react with acids to form corresponding amine salts. Their specific mixed carbon chain length distribution (predominantly C16 and C18) achieves an excellent balance between performance and cost. The long carbon chain structure imparts them with good surface activity and adsorptivity, which can effectively modify the interfacial properties of substances.

Application

Mineral Flotation: It is widely used as a flotation reagent for the separation and enrichment of various minerals.

Textile Auxiliaries: It is applied in the production of fiber water-repellent softeners, antistatic agents and dyeing auxiliaries.

Agriculture and Chemical Engineering: It reacts with ethylene oxide (EO) to form tallow amine polyoxyethylene ether, which can be used in the manufacture of glyphosate synergists in the pesticide industry.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, it is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents, and separated from incompatible substances such as acids.
