Product Features

Cyclopentylamine is a colorless, transparent liquid with a strong ammoniacal or pungent odor. It has an extremely low flash point of approximately 17°C (closed cup) and is classified as a highly flammable liquid. Possessing both water solubility and oil solubility, cyclopentylamine exhibits alkalinity in aqueous solution and high reactivity.

Application

Pharmaceutical Industry: Used in the synthesis of bioactive drug molecules with antibacterial, antitumor, and other properties. For example, it serves as an intermediate in the synthesis of certain dipeptidyl peptidase-IV inhibitors, which are used in the treatment of diabetes.

Agrochemical Synthesis: Employed as an intermediate in the production of agricultural chemicals such as fungicides and insecticides.

Organic Synthesis: Widely utilized in the synthesis of other fine chemicals, and its derivatives find applications in the petrochemical, daily chemical, and other industries.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, it is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents, and separated from incompatible substances such as acids.
