Product Features

PKO-E is a white to slightly yellow solid at room temperature. It features good thermal stability and operational safety. It is poorly soluble in water yet soluble in acidic media. Being alkaline, it can react with acids to form salts. It has high-efficiency thickening capacity and can significantly enhance the viscosity of the system under acidic conditions. Its molecular structure contains both amide groups and tertiary amine groups; as a key intermediate for the production of various important surfactants, it can be used to prepare betaines, amine oxides and quaternary ammonium salts and other derivatives.

Application

Daily Chemicals and Personal Care Products: It is used as an emulsifier, wetting agent, conditioning agent and softener in products such as bath preparations, hair conditioners, skin care products and shampoos.

Oilfield Chemistry: It serves as a viscoelastic surfactant (VES) for acidizing and is applied in acidizing fracturing operations. It is formulated with brine solutions and hydrochloric acid to produce a new type of gelled acid fluid system, a technology that has been successfully applied in oilfields located in Shaanxi, Xinjiang, Tianjin and other regions.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, PKO-E is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents.Store separately from incompatible substances such as acids.
