Upon heating, it decomposes to release toxic gases, including nitrogen oxides.

Pharmaceutical and Agrochemical Synthesis: It is used as a building block in the production of various drugs and pesticides.

Epoxy resin curing agent: As a room-temperature curing agent, it is used in flooring, coatings, adhesives and composite materials. The cured product has excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical resistance.

Polyamide monomer: Used for producing special polyamide (nylon) fibers or engineering plastics through condensation polymerization with diacid.

Carbon dioxide absorber: Its aqueous solution can be used to absorb CO₂ in flue gas.
