High Extraction Efficiency:Triisooctylamine exhibits high selectivity and extraction efficiency for various precious metal ions and heavy metal ions; for instance, the extraction rate for mercury (Ⅱ) can reach over 98%.
Excellent Stability:It possesses stable chemical properties, low solubility in water, minimal loss, and can be reused.
Strong Hydrophobicity:The long-chain alkyl structure endows it with high lipophilicity, making it particularly suitable for extracting target substances from aqueous phases.
Application
Polyester Resin Industry:Used as a triboelectric agent in the friction spraying of friction-type polyester resins, with a recommended addition level of 2‰ (two per thousand).
Metal Extraction and Separation (Core Application):This is the most important and widespread application of triisooctylamine. It is utilized in hydrometallurgy and analytical chemistry for the selective extraction and separation of precious metals (e.g., gold, palladium, platinum) and heavy metals (e.g., mercury, uranium).
Organic Synthesis Intermediate:As a chemical raw material, triisooctylamine is used in the synthesis of dyes, plastics, rubbers, coatings, pesticides, and other products.
Triisooctylamine also finds application in the production of polyurethane foams.
Safety and Storage
Triisooctylamine is irritating to the skin and eyes, and inhalation is harmful. It is toxic to the environment, particularly to aquatic organisms. In accordance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code), it is classified as a Class 9 Dangerous Good (UN3082), and environmental hazard labels must be affixed during transportation.

Store in a cool, well-ventilated place(the recommended storage temperature is below 30°C). Keep container tightly sealed. Store separately from strong oxidizers and acids.
