Dipropylenetriamine-CAS56-18-8 is a clear, colorless liquid with an amine-like odor. It is miscible with water and soluble in most polar organic solvents. It is hygroscopic (moisture-sensitive) and sensitive to air and light.

Dipropylenetriamine-CAS56-18-8 exhibits strong basicity. Its chemical structure features three nitrogen atoms (two primary, one secondary), it acts as an effective crosslinking agent.




Application

 

Epoxy Resin Curing Agent: It is widely used as a curing agent for epoxy resins, contributing to the formation of rigid, crosslinked polymer networks. Dipropylenetriamine-CAS56-18-8 is used in coatings, adhesives and composite materials to enhance mechanical strength and heat resistance.

Polymer Industry: It is used in the synthesis of polyurethanes, polyamides, and other macromolecular materials.

Electronic chemicals (Etching solution): This is a new application of Dipropylenetriamine. Dipropylenetriamine is used as a cleaning agent in the electronics industry and as an etching solution for LCD panels.




Safety and Storage

 

Dipropylenetriamine-CAS56-18-8 is corrosive and harmful. It can cause severe skin burns and serious eye damage. It is harmful if swallowed or in contact with skin. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, protective clothing, and eye/face protection is essential during handling. In case of skin contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.
