Behenylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride appears as a white to pale yellow granule or powder at room temperature. It has good solubility and is easy to use in formulations. The quaternary ammonium cations in its molecular structure endow it with strong positive electrical properties, enabling it to effectively adsorb onto negatively charged surfaces (e.g., hair and skin) through electrostatic interaction. The amide bonds introduced into the molecule help enhance its mildness and adsorption on the hair cuticle. It exhibits excellent conditioning efficacy, which can significantly improve the dry and wet combability of hair, reduce tangling, and make hair feel soft and smooth; it has outstanding antistatic properties, which can effectively eliminate static electricity generated by friction and make hair easier to manage; it has good compatibility and can be used in formulating transparent shampoos without causing turbidity. Compared with some traditional quaternary ammonium salts, its structure may result in lower irritation and less sense of accumulation.

Application

Behenylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride is mainly used as a high-efficiency conditioner and antistatic agent in the personal care field.

Shampoo Products: Added to shampoos, it can provide instant conditioning effects while cleaning, with a recommended dosage of approximately 0.30-0.80%.

Hair Care Products: It is a core ingredient in conditioners, hair masks, hair treatment creams and other products, providing deep repair and smoothing effects, with a recommended dosage of approximately 0.50-3.0%.

Organoclay Modifier: Behenylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride is a cationic quaternary ammonium salt with a relatively high thermal decomposition temperature. Organoclays modified with it have high temperature resistance advantages that ordinary quaternary ammonium salts cannot match.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, Behenylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.
