Product Features

At room temperature, D1221 exists as a colorless to pale yellow transparent colloid, liquid, or white powder. Its appearance and form vary significantly depending on the content. It is readily soluble in water, ethanol, and isopropanol aqueous solutions. It has good compatibility with cationic, non-ionic, and amphoteric surfactants, yielding significant synergistic effects. However, it is incompatible with direct compounding with anionic surfactants, as this will result in precipitation. It can significantly reduce surface tension and possesses emulsifying, dispersing, and foaming capabilities. D1221 has two long carbon chains, which endow the surfactants derived from it with stronger surface activity and better softening and emulsifying effects compared with single-chain quaternary ammonium salts. D1221 exhibits extremely strong adsorption capacity and is readily adsorbed onto negatively charged surfaces, which can render fibers fluffy and soft.

Application

Asphalt Emulsification:As an emulsifier, it is used in asphalt emulsions for road construction.

Self-Service Car Wash Additive:Incorporated into automatic car wash fluid formulations, it delivers fast-drying, cleaning, and stain-removing effects, and forms a smooth hydrophobic surface to prevent water beading after cleaning.

Papermaking Additive:Used as an additive in the production of napkins and toilet paper.

Mineral Flotation:As a flotation agent, it is applied to mineral separation.

Oilfield Exploration:As an additive for tertiary oil recovery, it is used to improve oil recovery efficiency.

Textile Industry:As a fabric softener and antistatic agent, it enhances the hand feel of textiles.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, D1221 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
