Product Features

At room temperature, BS-14 is a colorless to light yellow transparent viscous liquid. In high concentrations, it exists as a white or off-white crystalline powder and is readily soluble in water. In acidic media (low pH), it exhibits cationic properties, while in alkaline media (high pH) it displays anionic behavior, enabling stable compatibility with various surfactants over a wide pH range. BS-14 remains stable in acidic, alkaline, and hard water conditions, and is also stable in the presence of sodium hypochlorite. However, prolonged heating above 100℃ should be avoided.

BS-14 combines multiple functions, including detergency, bactericidal action, softening, and rust prevention. It is low in irritation to skin and eyes, has good biodegradability, and is highly suitable for personal-care cleansing products. It possesses excellent foaming ability, producing rich and fine foam. With its good conditioning and antistatic properties, it helps make hair soft, smooth, and easy to comb, while also providing effective antistatic performance. Even in hard water (water with high levels of calcium and magnesium ions), BS-14 maintains excellent washing performance.

Application

Personal Care and Household Products:It serves as a key ingredient in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, foam baths, hand soaps, and similar products, and is particularly suitable for formulating children’s cleansers and sensitive-skin preparations. Its primary functions include foaming, foam stabilization, thickening, conditioning, and reducing overall formulation irritation.

Household Detergents:Used in the preparation of hard water–resistant detergents. Due to its cleaning, antistatic, and softening properties, it is also employed as a fabric softener and lime soap dispersant.

Industrial Applications:

In the rubber industry, it is used as a gelling emulsifier.

Serves as a foam-forming agent in fire-fighting foams.

In metal processing, it functions as an anti-rust agent and metal surface treatment aid.

In the textile industry, it is used as a shrink-resistant agent for rabbit wool.

In oilfield chemicals, it is applied as an enhanced oil recovery agent.Recommended dosage: 3.0 - 5.0%

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, BS-14 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
