Product Features

 

OA-14 is a colorless to pale yellow, transparent, viscous liquid at room temperature, with a density of approximately 0.98 - 1.02 g/cm³. It is readily soluble in polar solvents such as water and ethanol, but poorly soluble in non-polar solvents like petroleum ether. Its flash point exceeds 100°C. Under acidic conditions (pH < 7), it exhibits cationic properties, while under alkaline conditions (pH>7), it displays nonionic characteristics. OA-14 demonstrates excellent compatibility with anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants. It is chemically stable, possesses good hardness resistance, and is biodegradable.

OA-14 offers outstanding foaming and foam-stabilizing capabilities, generating abundant, fine, and stable foam. It exhibits particularly favorable foaming characteristics in anionic surfactant systems. It functions as an efficient thickener, allowing for the reduction or elimination of thickeners such as sodium chloride in shampoo formulations. OA-14 with a 25% myristyl dimethyl amine oxide content provides excellent thickening properties and is suitable for formulations containing bleaching agents. Compared to lauryl dimethyl amine oxide, it has a higher molecular weight, contributing to better stability and thickening performance.

OA-14 demonstrates significant antistatic and conditioning effects, effectively reducing or eliminating static electricity in hair, making it easier to comb, and imparting softness, smoothness, and shine. It also exhibits good emulsifying and dispersing abilities, making it suitable for toilet bowl cleaners, drain cleaners, and dye dispersants. OA-14 itself is non-toxic and causes low irritation to the skin and eyes. It can inhibit protein denaturation caused by anionic surfactants, thereby reducing the overall irritancy of compounded systems.

 



Application

 

Personal Care and Cosmetics: Serving as a foaming agent, foam stabilizer, thickener, conditioning agent, and antistatic agent, it is widely used in products such as shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, skincare products, and shaving preparations.

Household and Industrial Cleaning: Applied in hard-surface cleaners like dishwashing liquids, bathroom cleaners, and building exterior cleaners to provide thickening, irritation reduction, and synergistic effects. It is also used in industrial liquid bleaches to improve compatibility and stability.

Other Fields: Used in oilfield chemicals (e.g., enhanced oil recovery agents and demulsifiers) for foaming and thickening purposes. It is suitable for toilet bowl cleaners, drain cleaners, and dye dispersants.




Safety and Storage

 

From a safety perspective, OA-14 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
