Product Features

OA-12, at room temperature, exists as a colorless to pale yellow transparent viscous liquid in its liquid form, while the high-purity solid is a white crystalline substance with a melting point of 132-133℃. It is readily soluble in water and polar organic solvents (such as ethanol) and slightly soluble in non-polar organic solvents. In acidic media (pH＜7), it exhibits cationic properties, whereas in neutral or alkaline media (pH≥7), it displays nonionic characteristics.

OA-12 is known for its mildness, low irritation, and excellent compatibility with human skin, along with low physiological toxicity. It effectively reduces the irritation caused by anionic surfactants in detergent formulations. It not only produces rich and fine foam but also possesses outstanding foam-stabilizing capabilities. The compound integrates multiple functions, including thickening, emulsification, antistatic properties, and softening. Furthermore, it is relatively environmentally friendly and readily biodegradable.

Application

Personal Care and Home Care: Used as a foam booster, conditioning agent, and thickener, it is widely applied in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, and liquid detergents. It imparts softness and manageability to hair while enhancing the overall texture of the products.

Industrial and Household Cleaning: Employed in dishwashing liquids and hard-surface cleaners (e.g., for bathrooms and building exteriors), it provides thickening, foam stabilization, and performance-enhancing effects. In industrial liquid bleaches, it also improves product compatibility and overall stability.

Industrial Additives: Serves as a flow improver and foaming/thickening agent in oilfield applications.

Pesticide Additives: Used as a pesticide emulsifier.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, OA-12 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
